Guidelines for Guest Blog Post Submissions!

If you plan to submit GUEST AUTHOR posts to this blog, please adhere to the following guidelines:

Although the main thrust of this blog is creativity - writing, reading, living, and publishing - you do NOT have to be a professional writer, or even to consider your main passion to be writing, to have your submission accepted for this blog.

You might be an artist, someone who loves to read books or who enjoys art, even someone who likes cooking, gardening, crafting, woodworking, etc. You could be someone who simply finds pleasure and meaning in journaling or keeping a diary.

Posts must have SOMETHING to do with CREATIVITY - how you feed creativity in your own life, what you've learned about creativity, what creative endeavor (possibly a hobby) you feel passionate about and why, what stirs your creative soul, for example. You want to write a review of a book you've read recently, or of an art installment you've visited. Perhaps you remember a play, movie, piece of music, or quote that awakened your imagination. You may even talk about the natural environment, relationships, pets - and how it or they relate to your well of creativity. The possibilities are many and varied.

Posts that are accepted will be scheduled for publishing slots (normally I post once weekly, and my usual day for posting is Sunday - though this is not an absolute rule). I will inform you, by replying to your email submission (see below), when to expect to see your entry posted if it is accepted.

All guest submissions will be seriously considered for acceptance. Obviously, submissions with unnecessary vulgar language, hate speech, or subjects not in line with (or appropriate to) this site will not be chosen for posting.

This is a public blog. You need to consider all possible consequences of self-disclosing personal information before you submit it for consideration for posting. For example, mentioning medical or psychological issues you are having could have negative consequences for you in future regarding employment, health insurance costs or coverage possibilities. Employers and insurers have been known to troll Social Media and blog sites for information on potential employees or insurance applicants. If it is pertinent to your message to self-disclose, and you want to retain your privacy, consider sending an ALIAS with your submission (see below). All disclosed information (meaning real names and email addresses, and submission information we discuss that you decide not to include in your post, ETC.) will be kept confidential by me.

If you review a book or art installation, please include a photograph or image of the book cover, art, installation onsite, etc. Feel free to include images related to your topic or post, but please verify the images are not copyrighted material (unless permission has been granted for use). An exception to this might be product images taken from the seller's site, and included in a post about the product. It is helpful for you to include the URL or name of the site where you acquired the image(s). You may also want to link to theses sources within your post submission. Images you have taken, or that you own, are acceptable for submission without citation.

Also, please include the following (regarding books and works of art): the name of the author or artist, possibly the ISBN number of the book (or link to the book or artwork - for example: Amazon page where it may be purchased), and the name of the institution where the artwork is installed. You may also include links to author's or artist's professional websites.

Along with your post submission, include a title, a short biography of yourself, and a photograph of yourself (if you have one - this is optional. If you really don't want your photo published you may include a placeholder image, or I may assign one). If you have a website or blog, you are welcome to include the URL (and link to it) in your post submission.

If you wish to use an ALIAS byline instead of your real name (for publishing of the post) please inform me and include the ALIAS with your submission. Otherwise I will assume it is fine to publish your post with your real name as the byline.

PLEASE SUBMIT ALL POST ENTRIES TO MAYE AT:  wellofcreativity@gmail.com.

All images in this post, except the photograph of books (my own), were taken from the site Wylio.com, which offers FREE for use images to bloggers.
